Chapter Thirteen

Garth returned back to the suite after a meeting between him, Blake, and Senator Haralamb. The one thing he found hadn’t changed in his hibernation was the politics between dragons and men. It took everything in him not to hunt down the rich snot who dared threaten his mate. He rubbed his hand across his neck and walked down the hall. He spotted the half-empty bottle of champagne and the empty box of chocolates. “Amelia?”

“In here,” her voice purred seductively.

He found in her in the bedroom, sitting naked on the bed. Seeing him, her eyes darkened, and a slow smile crossed those pouty red lips. She leaned back on her elbow, her legs crossed, and his green silk tie nestled between her exposed breasts.

“I figured you would be getting ready for tonight.” She’d done something with her hair, something alluring, and her long, lovely body gleamed with the gold of her dragon heritage.

“Don’t I look ready?” She crooked a finger. “Why don’t you come over and take a closer look.”

He tried to keep his blood from heading south as walked to her. “You’re going to be late for your fancy party.”

She patted beside her. “We have time.”

He sat, ran his hand over her side, cruising her curves. “You know I can’t let you leave our room wearing only my tie.”

“Mmm-hmm.”

He leaned down, his lips pressing to hers for one heat-filled moment. Instant need, wild and wicked lashed through him. His tongue slipped through her lips, devoured. He swallowed her muffled gasp and demanded more.

Two could play her game. His blood grew hot with arousal, longing, and love flooding inside him. Snarling with a desperate greed for her mouth, her body under his, he pushed her back on the bed. The taste of her sparked fire in his blood, just as it had the first time her lips touched his.

While his mouth conquered, his hands plundered.

Her body arched under his, writhing as she dragged at his shirt. She pulled it up, nails scraping against his abs. He removed his hands away from her long enough to pull it off. Wrapped together, they sought each other. Sought darker, deeper pleasure that slicked the skin and raced inside their dragons’ hearts.

Touch, taste, possess.

To be wanted like this and to want and need in returned, had seemed to impossible to him. It was like flames consuming him from the inside out, every inch, to feel and be aware of every part of her body while it blazed along with him.

He consumed. His dragon fed on it.

Pulling away long enough to shed the rest of his clothing, he jerked her hips up, and pulling her towards him, driving himself into her. He’d stunned her, he could see the breathless scream on her lips, and it sent a thrill in him. She flailed for purchase, and her hands clutched the tangled bedspread.
